European iOS Users Stay Engaged with Top Geolocation Games in Q4 2023

The geolocation gaming scene on iOS remained active in the last quarter of 2023. Sensor Tower's data showcases the trends for the top five geolocation games, providing a glimpse into the European market's engagement levels.

Niantic, Inc.'s flagship title, Pokémon GO, saw a slight dip in downloads, starting the quarter with 68K and finishing with a spike at 60K. Weekly active users showed a similar decline from 3.3M to 2.5M. However, the game's revenue trended down more noticeably from 983K USD to 497K USD by the end of December.

Illumix, Inc.’s Five Nights at Freddy's AR experienced a notable surge in downloads, peaking at 29K in late October before stabilizing around 12K. Active users doubled from 17K to 35K in the same period. Revenue also saw an upward trend, with the game earning 2.3K USD in the festive week.

Another Niantic venture, Monster Hunter Now, showed fluctuating revenue, ending the quarter at 29K USD after a low of 19K USD in mid-November. Downloads decreased from 31K to 3K, while active users remained fairly stable, ending at 75K.

Akita Limited Liability Company's Tamadog - Puppy Pet Dog Games saw a steady increase in revenue from 4.8K USD to 6.5K USD. Downloads had an upward trend, starting at 1.6K and rising to 6.2K, and weekly active users grew from 4.8K to 7.4K.

Lastly, Peridot, also by Niantic, had a variable quarter. After a sharp increase in downloads to 13.5K in late October, the numbers fell close to zero by year-end. Active users peaked at 19K and then decreased to 9.9K. Revenue saw a high of 7.3K USD in the third week of November but ended the quarter on a high note with 6.6K USD.
